Different Dimension Collect Beautiful Moments

Like Reflection, Collect Beautiful Moments was released in September this year by Indiana-based indie polish maker Different Dimension as part of the Someday We'll All Be Memories Too collection. It is also a shimmer polish, constructed similarly to Reflection, here with a violet base bearing a boatload of fine color-shifting shimmers. The base color is a dark, robust pigment violet, which has more of a purple lean than other violet shades. The color-shifting shimmers read as bright magenta within the base, combining with the violet to give the polish a dimensional, lit-from-within Mardi Gras purple sensibility, brighter and more magenta-ish along the axis of light and shading to a deep, rich Palatinate purple at the sidewalls.

Application was lovely. The consistency of Collect Beautiful Moments is fluid, full-bodied and smooth with a thicker viscosity that I added a couple of squirts of polish thinner to at the outset. Thinned, it had a fluent, velvety, self-leveling glide over the nail that went on very evenly in medium coats and did not show brushstrokes. Pigmentation is very good, delivering completely even, opaque coverage and full, rich color in two coats. Cleanup can create a tiny bit of pigment travel but is otherwise straightfoward. Collect Beautiful Moments dries naturally in good time to a smooth, shiny finish.

Collect Beautiful Moments delivers that flawlessly silken, smoldering dimensional radiance that you crave. In a purple polish, this kind of shimmer effect has a more festive feel than it does in a red like Reflection, less vampy (although certainly not without a degree of vampiness), more richly celebratory and extroverted. A gorgeous, resplendent polish.
