Different Dimension One Nation Evermore

Like One Flag, One Land and One Heart, One Hand, One Nation Evermore was released in June this year by Indiana-based indie polish maker Different Dimension as part of the limited edition Americana Trio. Officially described as "a linear cobalt blue holographic polish with added holographic microglitters," it's so holographic that the blue is actually kind of difficult to parse, but after staring at it under a variety of lighting conditions I agree. It's a vibrant, very clean, medium-toned variation of cobalt, slightly brighter and more expansive than what I typically think of for that color, with inclinations to the web color royal blue on the nail. Abundant holographic pigment creates analogous, dimensionalizing hues of lapis, sapphire and misty denim in ambient light, where the holographic microglitters read as flashes of azure. The color amps up noticeably in direct sun, which generates a linear holographic flare predominated by an arc of brilliant azure and spangled with bright, twinkling prismatic sparks from the microglitters.

Application was a pleasure. The consistency of One Nation Evermore is fluid, creamy and smooth with a medium viscosity and a lush, self-leveling glide over the nail without any stacking or stickups on the part of the microglitters. Pigmentation is excellent, nearly a one coater but two provides the most evenly opaque coverage, plus you get more microglitters that way. Cleanup is fairly straightforward -- watch out for sticky glitters! One Nation Evermore dries naturally in very good time to a shiny finish with the barest hint of discernible texture, easily smoothed by a single layer of topcoat, which does not in any way inhibit the holographic properties of the polish.
