Top Shelf Lacquer You Look Like I Need a Drink

Another Pastel Bright today! This is You Look Like I Need a Drink from March's Pastel Brights collection by Ohio-based indie polish maker Top Shelf Lacquer, the third and final polish from my Pastel Brights purchase. It is the dedicated blue of the collection, a very pure blue with almost no green to it at all, officially described as a "bright baby blue neon pastel crème." The color is a creamy white-based tint of azure that is indeed a perfect desaturated baby blue or light sky blue. It has a certain vibrant quality for a pastel, more so than my photos show, with the luminosity that characterizes a washed or bleached neon shade and makes your fingers look tan.

Like Take Life One Sip at a Time and Alcohol You Later, You Look Like I Need a Drink was another three-coater for me, although folks with a more even hand and smooth nail beds may well only need two. The consistency is fluid and creamy, like the others, with a medium viscosity and a fluent, buttery slip over the nail, and this one also self-levels as it sets up. Cleanup is easy. You Look Like I Need a Drink dries naturally in good time to a gorgeous glossy finish.

Photos show three coats of You Look Like I Need a Drink over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

Another beautifully formulated pastel! You can tell that Amy worked carefully to keep these polishes as fluent and eminently paintable as they are.

love,

Beautiful pastel - and ANOTHER! creme you'd be sporting, rare indeed! I adore your writing style; full of class, honest, and entertaining. Please never stop being you :-)

    1. So happy that you enjoy the reviews! I know I don't feature cremes often enough. The truth is that I find them difficult to photograph well. Shimmers and holos are much easier, plus I usually have more to say about them.

This Pastel Brights collection has some really great colors. I only started really enjoying pastels last year, if you can believe it. I used to have a real bias against them. Glad that's over!
