Different Dimension Boaty Call

Like Resting Beach Face, Boaty Call was released in August last year by Indiana-based indie polish maker Different Dimension as part of the Pretty Nauti collection. Officially described as a "teal holographic polish with added shimmers," the color is a light silvery variation of aquamarine with overtones of spring green that is similar to a sea foam or magic mint. Here, in its holographic version, it delivers a lush, shimmering medley of the countless greens and blues you might see in the sandy, sun-dappled sea floor beneath clear, tropical waters. Pale, shifting hues of cyan, aqua and caribbean and nile green, jade, mint, beryl, celadon, moss, eton blue, turquoise, cerulean -- all are encompassed within the holographic effects of this polish. A strong and athletic holo, it displays a sparkling delineated flare in almost any light and is downright dazzling in the sun, of course, but I actually think that it's at its most beautiful in low-to-medium ambient light, where the holographically-generated colors are more varied and subtle. 

Application was a delight, not just because of the formula but also because you get to see all of those subtle blues and greens evolve on your nails. The consistency of Boaty Call is fluid, light and very smooth with a fluent, medium viscosity and an effortless, silky, self-leveling slip over the nail -- user-friendly and totally fabulous! Pigmentation is very good, delivering evenly opaque coverage in two thin coats. Cleanup is easy. Boaty Call dries naturally in very good time to a smooth, shiny finish. Topcoat does not in any way interfere with the holographic properties of this polish.

Once again, powerful and intense holographic effects have hijacked my camera. Boaty Call is much more than the sum of its parts, however, and you'll just have to take my word for it -- it is one of those poignantly beautiful creations that viscerally shocks you by how exquisite it is. Jaw-dropping, breathtaking, heart-swelling holographic nail polish beauty!
