Dreamland Claddagh (2017)

Like Electric Lime (2017), Claddagh (2017) was released last month by Dreamland Artisan Nail Lacquer as one of several updates to green polishes previously released under the Smitten label. The original Claddagh was released in 2014 as a part of a St. Patrick's day duo. The other polish in the duo, Shamrock Shake, was also updated.

Claddagh (2017) is officially described as an emerald green linear holo, and the color is indeed a radiant medium-light emerald that does full justice to the gemstone. Lush, bright and grassy, it is beautifully illuminated and dimensionalized by abundant ultrafine holographic pigment, which gives the polish an effervescent, finely-grained visual texture and creates glowing hues of cerulean, mantis, jade and Persian green in ambient light. In the sun, there's a glorious, delineated prismatic flare with brilliant arcs of azure and spring green edged with pinpoint sparks of orange that shades to a dense Persian green at the sidewalls of the nail.

Application was so good it just about left me speechless. The consistency of Claddagh is fluid, light and smooth with a medium viscosity and a near effortless, even, self-leveling slip over the nail that goes exactly where you want it to and is a pleasure to finesse with Dreamland's flattened, flexible brush. Seriously perfect! Pigmentation is very good to excellent. This polish goes on so smoothly and evenly that you may be tempted to stop at one coat, but a touch of sheerness welcomes a second, which also deepens the color to match the bottle. Cleanup is easy -- no pigment travel and only a hint of trace staining. Claddagh dries naturally in very good time to a smooth, shiny finish. Topcoat does not inhibit the holographic properties in any way.

Photos show two coats of Claddagh (2017) over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

A lot of lacquers may claim to be emerald green, but this one is the most beautiful, luminous, dimensional emerald polish I think I've ever seen and the color is SPOT ON. It is absolutely stunning. Green lovers, you NEED this! The formula and color will fill you with gratitude for Noelie's skills, and the look on your nails will take your breath away!

love,
Liz
