ILNP Yours Truly

Yours Truly was released this month by Nevada-based indie polish maker I Love Nail Polish (ILNP) as part of the Spring 2017 collection. Officially described as a violet-purple with pink shimmers, gold microflake shimmers and scattered holographic flakes, the base color is a translucent, medium-toned variation of lavender with an inclination to periwinkle, something along the lines of Crayola's Magic Scent color, soap. Superabundant ultrafine baby pink particulate shimmers combine with the base to pull the color firmly back into lavender territory, creating a pink flash along the axis of light and giving the look a prominent, glossy pink sheen. There's a flecky visual texture from the golden and holographic flakes, with the latter contributing a fine prismatic twinkle in ambient light that strengthens to a field of scattered rainbow sparks predominated by bright azure in the sun.

Application was a pleasure. The consistency of Yours Truly is fluid, light and smooth with a thin-to-medium viscosity and a silky, self-leveling slip over the nail that likes to go on in thin coats from a moderately loaded brush. Pigmentation is sheer. I found that three coats suited me best for full bottle color and most evenly opaque coverage. Cleanup is easy with a little bit of component stickiness on the part of the holographic flakes, especially. Yours Truly dries naturally in very good time to a smooth, shiny finish.

Photos show three coats of Yours Truly over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

Spring is my favorite time of year to wear lavender polish, the color always feels fresh and complements the blooms and early leaves of spring in such a satisfying way. Yours Truly, with its pink sheen and prismatic sparkle, is perfectly suited to the season without being a pastel, which I very much appreciate. It feels sleek and glassy on the nail, a shimmery spring charmer!

love,
Liz
