ILNP Industrial Park

Industrial Park was released in mid-September this year by Nevada-based indie polish maker I Love Nail Polish (ILNP) as part of the Neutrals subset of the Fall 2016 collection. The color is a medium-dark semi-translucent blue-grey, a dusky shade along the lines of rhythm from the Resene Color List. It is filled with bazillions of variously-sized holographic particles and microflakes, giving it a silver-flecked visual texture that brings to mind heathered wool. Despite a certain moodiness to the color, it has a nice cozy wintry feel that I find immensely appealing. The holographic bits burst into prismatic sparkle as light hits them, and adding a colorful dimensionality to the look.

Application was super! The consistency of Industrial Park is fluid, light and smooth with an eminently-paintable, thin-to-medium viscosity and a silky, self-leveling slip over the nail. Pigmentation is somewhat sheer, especially on the first coat, but builds easily to wearable opacity in two thicker or three thinner coats. Cleanup is relatively easy, although acetone does free up tiny rogue holographic flakes that enjoy clinging to cuticles and skin. Industrial Park dries naturally in very good time to a sleek, glossy finish. Nice!

Photos show three coats of Industrial Park over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

I've always loved the stippled visual texture that is characteristic of ILNP's holos of this type, with that mix of holographic microflakes and particles. The prismatic display is scattered but sparkles so beautifully when light hits, and there's a gorgeous twinkling effect that rolls up and down the nail as you move your fingers in direct light, a little visual perk that I appreciate. The polish is flawlessly formulated, as we've learned to expect from this brand, and is a joy to work with.

Great polish!

love,
Liz
