Femme Fatale Cinderella

Cinderella was released in April this year by Australian indie polish maker Femme Fatale Cosmetics as part of the Enchanted Fables collection. Officially described as a bright medium blurple with pink shimmers, the base color is a vibrant deepened cornflower blue. Superabundant finely-milled pink particulate shimmers combine with the base to give the polish a creamy medium indigo look that is similar to my favorite tropical indigo but with more oomph from the blue. The shimmers are most discernible in direct sun, but are also quite visible in ambient light as an underlying bloom of bright misty pink that glows along the axis of light, creating a beautiful, lit-from-within kind of dimensionality.

Application was lovely. The consistency of Cinderella is fluid and very creamy with a medium viscosity and a plush, velvety glide over the nail that went on best for me in thin to medium coats from a bead loaded brush. Like other Femme Fatale polishes that I've experienced, it has the sort of creaminess and biddability that seems to intensify with each coat. Pigmentation is somewhat sheer on the first coat but builds easily to wearable opacity with the second. I added a third for the photos. Cleanup is straightforward with a little pigment travel but no residual staining to speak of. Cinderella dries naturally in average time to a finish that, while smooth and shiny, has a certain flat aspect to it. Topcoat creates a becoming gloss and accentuates the presence and dimensionalizing effects of the shimmers.

Photos show three coats of Cinderella over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

As photogenic as this polish is, it is even prettier in person where you can see the effortless dynamics of the interplay between the glowing shimmers and the smooth, luminous base color. If anything, the shimmers are more apparent in person than in these photos, and their effects more amazing. Creator Sophie is like the shimmer whisperer of polish makers, she has a magic touch!

    1. *lol* I's got them, yes I do! I really love this, so easy to wear but that shimmer makes it quite charistmatic. I got unsolicited compliments from strangers when I wore this out and about!
