Glam Polish GEE

GEE was released by Australian indie polish maker Glam Polish as part of the special limited edition OH.EM.GEE! trio of polishes in April this year. It's the last of the three I'll have featured here, the others being, of course, OH and EM. Similar in construction to EM, GEE has a medium bright magenta base swimming with tiny sterling silver microflakes, silvery ultraholo microglitters and bright pink glass flecks. This polish has ah-mazing sparkle power! Even in low and indirect light, all three components scintillate like mad from within the polish, with exceptional reflectivity from the sterling silver flakes that give GEE a silver-speckled semi-metallic gleam. The ultimate wow comes in direct sun, where the ultraholo microglitters offer a blaze of sparkle in prismatic colors, a dazzling display to rival any Vegas showgirl's costume.

Application was great! The consistency of GEE is fluid, light and fluffy with components, which are exceptionally well-behaved and do not interfere in any way with application. The polish has a smooth, self-leveling glide over the nail and is easy to manipulate with Glam's round flexible brush. Pigmentation/coverage is very good with completely even opacity available in two coats. Cleanup is best done as you go along with a carefully dampened cleanup brush, as the components (especially those tiny silver flakes) will run wild over the nail environs when acetone hits them. I managed a cleaner manicure this time than with EM, but even so there are still loose silvery flakes decorating my nail surrounds on certain fingers. GEE dries naturally in good time to a mostly smooth, minutely-textured finish that it easily smoothed with topcoat.

Photos show two coats of GEE over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

It's about time I got photos of one of these OH.EM.GEE! polishes in the sun, although the indirect light photos show off the ultraholo microglitters at least as well if not better than the sun shots. Once again we see feminine magenta festively kitted out in her party girl best, all the sexier with that gleaming, gift-wrap-ribbon sheen. Overt and vivacious, this is truly a celebratory lacquer. It makes you think, wherever that polish is going, there's going to be some big fun happening there!

Rachel, owner and creative force behind Glam Polish, is particularly adept at adapting a construct to multiple colors and EM and GEE are exemplary representatives of this. OH is the odd man out, with a silver holo base and multichromatic flakes and lavender microglitters in addition to the other components. All three are masterful sparklers. Orgasmic, even! As Mishka of Accio Lacquer has said, Rachel has a massive talent for creating liquid sex.... *lol*

love,
Liz
