Too Fancy Lacquer Bejeweled

I've got another polish from my recent Too Fancy Lacquer spree at Llarowe for you today: Bejeweled. Bejeweled was released as part of the Bluemuda Trio in October 2013. It's officially described as a sapphire linear holo, but I think it belongs more to the cyan family of blues. It has a drop or two of green in it that makes me want to call it a medium cyan or bright cerulean blue, sort of a rich saturated sparkling turquoise or glacier blue, an exotic, mesmerizing shade. And it's a linear holo with stunning shading effects to the base and a full delineated prismatic display, so you get to see all kinds of beautiful shallow tropical sea blues on your nails -- shifting splashy exhilarating colors!

Application was fantastic -- this is another superb Too Fancy formula. The consistency of Bejeweled is fluid, light and creamy with an effortless silky slip over the nail and excellent self-leveling properties. It's a dream to manipulate with Too Fancy's flattened flexible brush, and applies beautifully in thin or thicker coats as your preference dictates. Honestly, this is a polish that absolutely wants to go on your nails and demonstrates its intentions with every brushstroke. Pigmentation is very good, with a breath of translucence on the first coat building easily to completely even opaque coverage in two, which is what I used for this manicure. Cleanup is a snap with no pigment travel or residual staining. Bejeweled dries naturally in very good time to a slick, glossy finish. Nice!

Photos show two coats of Bejeweled over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite. They were taken early in the a.m., and are a little more murky than I would like (except for the sun shots).

A gem of a pool blue, refreshing and perfect for summer, this polish has a vibrant, electric quality that reminds me of a hummingbird. Here in the dim half-light of my office it's glowing on my fingertips like ten tiny tropical lagoons. And the feel of it! It has a delicious plump and bouncy texture on the nail, a kind of silky elasticity that has me stroking my nails with my fingertips like kind of demented crooner. Purrrehcious!

love,
Liz

p.s. Removal of Bejeweled left me with slight staining on my nails, which was easy to remove with a few passes of a cotton pad soaked with cuticle remover.
