Cult Nails Devious Nature

Devious Nature was released by indie polish maker Cult Nails as part of the A Day at the Races collection in the spring of 2011. This is a medium vivid berry pink, or magenta, creme. It has a sophisticated feminine vibe with a quiet energy for such a bright color. I quite like it, it reminds me a a little bit of a slightly less saturated, less frenetic version of Deborah Lippmann Between the Sheets, minus that polish's more overtly purple tones.

Application was lovely. The more I get to know Cult Nails cremes, the more I appreciate their formula. Devious Nature has a fluid and light consistency with smooth quick slip over the nail and outstanding self-leveling properties. Pigmentation is very good with completely opaque coverage in two medium coats, possibly three if your coats are very thin. This one is slightly less dense and more fluid than Wack Slacks, and has the capacity to flood if you swipe a cuticle, which I did. Twice. But unlike Wack Slacks, Devious Nature cleans up easily, thank goodness. This polish dries naturally in very good time to a gorgeous glossy finish.

Photos show two coats of Devious Nature over treatment and basecoat with a bubbly topcoat of Seche Vite.

This polish has great pedicure potential, no? It makes a nice manicure as well, and while there are probably plenty of similar shades out there, this one applies so nicely and feels so nice and light on the nail that I think it's a keeper. The color is bold enough for year round wear, too.

Sweet!

love,
Liz

  1. It's a beautiful pink on you, fun but still understated and not too loud. Like you say, it's a great pink for all year round and for all occasions. :D
