Zoya Yummy

Yummy was released by Zoya as part of the Candy collection for summer 2007. Zoya describes it as a "bright, cheerful light robin's egg blue," but I tend to think of robin's egg blue as part of the cyan family of blues, more of an aqua. Yummy is more in line with the azures. To me, it is a medium-light perfect clean sky blue, a touch lighter but of the same caliber of color that you see overhead surrounding billowy clouds on a very clear day. It has a slight milky translucence to it that gives it body and brightness. It is the color of blue cotton candy and blue raspberry snowcones and slurpees, a delicious, unpretentiously happy hue.

Application was a delight. The consistency is slightly more fluid than what I think of as Zoya's quintessential creamy dense formula, but it's not runny by any means. It has just enough viscosity to it to make for a neat and easy manicure. Pigmentation is very good with slight sheerness on the first coat that builds to opacity after two. As it's on the thin side, it can be applied in thin coats but I would encourage the use of medium coats to take full advantage of Yummy's admirable self-leveling properties. This milky bright blue is non-staining, making cleanup a snap. Yummy dries naturally in good time to a glorious glossy finish.

Photos show two coats of Yummy over Seche Rebuild treatment and Butter London Nail Foundation basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

If tension and anxiety has left you feeling twisted and dry, here's a color that will quench your thirst for optimism. Yummy has a lovely sweet disposition on the nail, it makes you feel like you can just sail through your day, shedding problems like water off a duck's back. Don't we all need colors like this around us? Best of all, this one travels with you as you go.

love,
Liz
