Addendum: Orly Space Cadet over American Apparel Hassid

Out of curiosity, I decided to try swatching Orly Space Cadet over a black base color. American Apparel Hassid is my go-to black polish and that's what I used. Photos show two coats of Orly Space Cadet over one coat of American Apparel Hassid with a topcoat of Seche Vite. You could just as well use one coat of Space Cadet, I used two to get as rich a color as possible but found it didn't really make that much of a difference.

I think that though this combo may boost the colors in Space Cadet a little bit, it loses some of the subtler, in-between colors of Space Cadet's purple/green color shift. Less dreamy, more stark. You can definitely see the influence of the black in the emphasized foily look of the finish.

Still pretty, but maybe a little less complex.
